U.S. Cellular offers free Device Workshop to help seniors learn the ins and outs of smartphones at Raleigh County Commission on Aging




BECKLEY, W.Va. – From setting up passwords and email accounts to editing and storing photos, smartphones can offer an overwhelming array of options. That’s why U.S. Cellular is holding a free Device Workshop for seniors that offers a look at device technology and how it can work for a person’s specific needs.

“Our associates are always available to assist anyone with questions,” said Brandi McCune, area sales manager for U.S. Cellular. “The free Device Workshops are a great opportunity to learn the best tips to enhance and simplify life through technology to start off the New Year.”

The free Device Workshop will be held on Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Raleigh County Commission on Aging in Beckley located at 1614 South Kanawha Street Beckley, WV 25801. Attendees will learn how to use their devices and they do not need to be U.S. Cellular customers to attend. Specific topics that will be covered are:


• Use of both Android and Apple
• Organizing both email and password information
• Introduction to applications
• How to use the camera features
• How to capture, edit and share photos
• Device storage, deleting messages, emails
• Other apps for social media, health, budgeting
