Company to provide wireless safety tips, demo Family Protector app on-site WILKESBORO, N.C. (July 15, 2013) – U.S. Cellular has partnered with the Wilkesboro Fire and Police Departments to hold a free Safety Day for area residents on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the retail store located at 1809 US Highway 421. At this event, U.S. Cellular will provide free hot dogs and beverages, face painting, games and educational opportunities for children of all ages, temporary tattoos and the opportunity to take pictures with U.S. Cellular’s giant cellphone, Cellby. To deliver peace of mind to these customers, U.S. Cellular is offering its new Family Protector app to help users monitor device usage. So say customers of U.S. Cellular who participated in the wireless carrier’s Better Moments online survey¹ last month. Seventy-six percent of respondents say their mobile devices save them time and an equal number say it makes their lives easier. In addition, one in three says their mobile device has improved their relationships with their children. Interestingly, the survey found that even though texting, email, social media, picture messaging and video chat have all become hugely popular forms of communication on mobile phones, nearly 75 percent of respondents said that there’s still nothing like picking up the phone and hearing someone’s voice.
