U.S. CELLULAR ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT IN 4G LTE NETWORK AND RETAIL STORES IN VIRGINIA FOR 2013

Company invests $20 million overall across the state FARMVILLE, Va. --  U.S. Cellular upgraded the wireless experience for its Virginia customers in 2013 by investing $9.6 million in 4G LTE network enhancements across the state. Currently, nearly 90 percent of U.S. Cellular customers have access to 4G LTE speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G and similar to a cable Internet connection. The company also invested $9.8 in upgrades to its existing high-speed network in Virginia. U.S. Cellular is dedicated to the local communities it serves, so in addition to network enhancements, U.S. Cellular invested $1 million in Virginia to upgrade its in-store experience with a high-engagement design that makes shopping an easy and enjoyable experience. ROANOKE, Va. -- Voting has started for U.S. Cellular’s Black History Month Art Contest in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia.  Club members were encouraged to research and learn more about African-American role models and their important contributions to society.  And then create and submit an original 8.5 x 11 portrait representing the figure of their choice using any art medium from any point in history, including present day.
