U.S. Cellular Holds Free Event for National Preparedness Month

U.S. Cellular, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Washington County Division of Emergency Services will hold a free event for National Preparedness Month on Sat., Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the U.S. Cellular store located at 17163 Cole Road in Hagerstown.

At the event, U.S. Cellular will host an array of activities for children, parents, and local residents. This event is designed to be both fun and educational allowing people to come and meet business leaders, local heroes, and visit with friends and neighbors.

Safety event attendees will:
  • Learn about child safety and pick up a free DNA kit
  • Speak with fire and sheriff department personnel
  • Tour police cruisers, ambulances and fire trucks
  • Learn how to dial 911 on a cellphone

“U.S. Cellular is pleased to host this safety event, which is just one of the ways we provide the best customer experience,” said Dana Dorcas, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in the Mid-Atlantic. “In times when disaster strikes, we offer free battery swap, charging stations, and often have car phone chargers available for purchase. These are some of the many ways we treat every customer like a neighbor, not a number.”

U.S. Cellular will offer free giveaways and in-store promotions for both new and current customers at the event. Attendees are also encouraged to pick up a voting code at the store for the company’s Calling All Communities campaign which will award $1 Million to local schools. The school that garners the most community votes will win $150,000 and the next 17 schools with the most votes will receive $50,000. For more information, please contact the store at 301-582-3418.
