How to Avoid Spam During Elections and After

Image
Elections are a popular time  for text and phone scams  like false  voter registration, fake polls or fraudulent donation requests.  While many are  legitimate  it can be  hard to distinguish between   real and fake solicitations. UScellular provides tips to avoid spam: If a text asks  you to do something immediately, consider it a  red flag. Don't respond to texts from questionable sources. Don't click on links in texts from unknown numbers. Don't answer or return calls from  unknown numbers. If you answer such a call, hang up immediately. A "local" caller ID  number does not always  mean it is a local caller. Never give out personal information.   Report spam to   reportarobocall.com , or apps like  SpamResponse  or  Call Guardian . #electionspam, #electiontext, #stopspam, #UScellular, #OutBoxComm, #MWat, #cellphonesafety, #wirelesssafetytips
