Local UScellular Asks Area Youth Groups in Need of Funding to Join a Call April 8

Wireless Carrier Provides Maryland Community Support Detailing how K-12 Groups can Raise up to $1,000 for Academic, Arts, Sports and Other Extra-Curricular Activities   For the seventh year in a row, youth-focused organizations in their local communities can earn up to $1,000 through UScellular’s Community Connections program. That’s why local UScellular leaders are holding a dial-in and video call to make non-profits more aware of the opportunity and answer any questions that they may have. Voting Begins in UScellular’s 14th Annual Black History Month Art Contest

Voting is open in UScellular's 14th annual Black History Month Art Contest with Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. For the first time, voting is available online, and artwork from members in the Roanoke, Salem, Rocky Mount, Christiansburg, Shawsville, and Eastern Montgomery communities is represented.  Residents can visit uscellular/artcontest to vote for their favorite piece of original art. In January, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia members created artwork in recognition of influential Black people from around the globe, including historical figures, world leaders, athletes and celebrities. The 10 finalists were chosen by representatives from the Boys & Girls Club and local UScellular leaders based on creativity, quality, interpretation, clarity of theme and overall impression. Although the look is changing, the company’s core beliefs and values in treating customers and supporting communities remains the same. The new logo honors the past while taking the brand into the future with two key features: The blades of the star signify the power of individuals coming together to create positive change, and the emphasis on "US" highlights the company’s commitment to all of the communities it serves. The company is also updating how it’s being written in printed communications, both internally and externally.
