Kid Chess Club Enrolling for 2020-21 After School Programs

As many school openings have pivoted for virtual instruction starts this fall, one popular after-school program is still offering  its popular engaging series online. Kid Chess, the largest chess club for kids in the Southeast, has taken its fun, engaging classes. Now, students can compete in chess games and tournaments - from the comfort and safety of their homes. This inclusive environment combines the best of both worlds; gamified interaction with friends while learning the time-honored traditional game of chess.

“Chess has been shown to boost attention, improve problem-solving capabilities, provide cultural enrichment, advance intellectual maturity and enhance self-esteem. Our team of coaches make chess exciting. Kid Chess is an effective way to teach students a variety of skills and traits that will serve them well throughout their lives,” said Justin Morrison, a former educator, and Founder and Owner of Kid Chess.

Kid Chess began by offering summer Kid Chess Online Camps this year, allowing participants of all ability levels to be challenged and to improve important skills. Participants have seamlessly transitioned to the Kid Chess online model and are enjoying friendly competition and lessons while connecting with their clubmates and teachers. Kid Chess can also tailor individual child experiences based on performance measurement and Artificial Intelligence modeling to pinpoint specific areas of improvement.

Kid Chess participants learn valuable lessons through the program, including strategy, decision making, creativity and critical thinking. As a result, they boost their confidence and their love for competition. Whether they participated in programs at their school or they’re just learning the game, Kid Chess participants play competitive games in a friendly environment.

“Kid Chess remains ready to serve our students in a safe, online, no-contact environment, providing ongoing enrichment opportunities for students in the Atlanta area and beyond,” Morrison continued, “Plus, as always, schools are able to earn revenue by offering the online club which we are happy to provide during this season when many other after school program are canceled.”

It’s been proven that students who regularly participate in after school clubs, sports, and/or enrichment activities develop strong social skills, improve work habits and grades, have higher graduation rates, improve behavior, and boost school attendance, per the National AfterSchool Association. More specifically, over 90% of top schools nationwide offer chess clubs.
